W- Welcome Home Mr and Mrs.
Settling into a new place always has it's stressful points. We have all been there. Packing boxes, loading them into the car/truck, unpacking and then putting everything away. Then of course the multiple trips to the store for things we don't think about.
This move was a little different than the normal move to a new contract. Here in Stl we are staying for awhile, making this another home...not just a place to hang our hats. We get to make this place from scratch together. A 100% blank canvas, seems fun....at first.
We move into a beautiful new loft. Exposed brick walls, huge floor plans, everything you would want in a "city loft" apartment. The problem we now faced was the lack of EVERYTHING. No furniture, dishes, no nothing. Let the adventure begin.
We move in, sign paperwork, get keys! YAY!!! All after a very busy first week at a new job. NEXT UP...
We go to a furniture store and pick out some major necessities. A fun but so stressful experience. Do you know how many different kinds of furniture there are in a store? Let me tell you, alot. 3 hours later and we have some big checks marked off our list of things to purchase. The people at the store were even nice enough to make a special delivery arrangement for the weekend for us. YAY!
Furniture-done!
Next stop driving up to our beloved Ethel to get the little things. Five hours up, get home, grab some things, Five hours back. That was the plan. I joked that we "took advantage of our home," we went in, took what we wanted and left...No hello, no goodbye...
Needless to say I was more than tired and frustrated. All this and we still had to drive back...Stopping to get a bite to eat on our travels my love, my husband again showed me how wonderful he is. The little cafe had all this local artwork. I noticed one with a "W" on it and thought how cute it would be to have in our home...Without me saying anything he nodded in the direction of the print and said we should get that. SO, he happily went and purchased it for our new home.

So even though we have lots of little things to figure out still, we are settling in nicely to our little home.
Welcome home Mr & Mrs. W.
Thank you my husband for always being the one to remind me that it is "just us" and that we can and do get through it all together.
