Valentines Day & Feb 14
I found myself in a day of thought and somewhat sadness yesterday. The most romantic day of the year right? I know many people love the day itself. All the red, romances, roses and candles. The idea of what it should be. And yes it is sweet to walk around and see the all the couples. The young, the older ,the new ones and the wise ones. The sweet kisses shared by lovers and the simplicity of hand holding and sharing a glass of wine.
Isn't that what it is about anyway? Taking the time to tell the people you love, "hey, I love you.?" Everything else is like a beautifully wrapped gift. The actual gift is under the bows, the paper and the glitz, you just have to get to it.
I spent most the morning working on a scarf and hat a friend asked for....it just happened to be red, warm and soft. I finished it right about the time I realized that it was Valentines Days and it made me smile a little. Like a secret plan... The fact that I hadn't started/finished it before Feb 14, or that the color was red. Maybe I am the only one that thought that, but it was nice.
Karen, I hope you like your hat and scarf!
The evening was nice. A simple dinner with some cocktails with my love, my husband. A tasty dessert in bed and some great laughs...A normal night, filled with love.
To those who love Valentines day, enjoy it! Truly I mean that. Live in the day of love and romance. I try to remind myself daily what I love those I do. How I love them and what new ways I can tell them that I love them . Does anyone else fall in love with their partner, family or friends all over again? Isn't that the best feeling in the world? The little bounce that comes back to your step, the excitement about seeing and or holding your love....those little things that we take for granted in the beginning and look for in other times. I love those feelings.
To all my friends, family, loved ones...Happy Valentines Day...Happy Tuesday...Happy February 14th...but most of all....I love you.
