On our way again

We packed up our little family and our little car and hit the road again. Denver was a nice place to enjoy some time off and each other. We braved a pretty intense winter blizzard and some beautiful days in the dog parks and making snow angels.

The time there was great for a couple reasons...

We worked out EVERY DAY! Whether it was going to the gym, doing an exercise dvd (shred it), playing in the snow with the dog or even doing on a couple beautiful hikes. It is crazy to think that I was obsessed with working out a few years ago. When you don't do it every day you really do forget how much fun it is. It feels amazing to have an improvement in strength and power. You don't need a fancy trainer or a huge mega-gym...just a couple simple things and dedication. This weekend we are actually doing a 5K. I haven't done one of these in so long but I am super excited about the prospect of a race. I have some secret desire that it will help me to keep up the running aspect of working out, let's hope...

Living there made me focus some energy on myself...What do I want? What should I do? The answer has still evaded me but I think I have a better focus than before and look forward to the changes.

It was super fun to spend some time with old friends. Seeing their little family and ours come together was fun and light-hearted. It was like seeing my future right in front of me, just played by other actors....Let's hope!

So, sitting here in a little cafe in the middle of Texas, I blog about the little trip and stop we had in Denver. There were a couple disappointments and a couple set backs sadly. To be honest without my love, my husband I don't think I would have weathered them well. He has this way of calming me down when I can't see the forest through the trees. He says this little saying, "You just gotta let it go." Although when he says it I am annoyed and want to just cry, it makes sense...I need to remember that.
Denver was not what we expected or hoped for, but like always just another part of our life...Just another adventure on the very long road trip we started on!
