BEAUTIFUL

Part of being, as my husband says, a "professional vacationist" means that there is a lot of driving. Together we have driven through some of the most amazing and wonderful places that the USA has to offer. Truthfully I wonder how many people get to see the red rocks of Utah, the oceans and mountains of California, the spanning fields of the Midwest and the mountains of Colorado. That doesn't even start to list the stunning places that our country has to offer. I can't wait to see more of it with him.

Driving from So.Cal to Denver was a nice two day adventure with my little family. Andy, B (the beagle) and I piled into our little TDI, hooked up the Uhaul and started on our way. Saying goodbye to California was emotional and there were for sure some tears shed as we saw the ocean disappearing behind us as we ventured on to the next place that we will call home.

Utah is one of the most amazing places visually that I have ever seen. While driving Andy and I listened to Howard Stern and a mix of wonderful music that felt as though it was perfectly timed for the places we were passing through. Being constantly flanked my massive mountains, hills and valley's can make someone feel insignificant and lost. The mountains that span higher and wider than you can imagine dwarf your mere existence and makes it feel that you can just get swallowed up by them. The mountains are like arms of the world, wrapping around you and holding you in their presence. Beautiful and surreal, but scary and haunting at the same time.

Thought provoking

We arrive in Denver and settle into our new home well. We need to both get used to the cold weather, the need for hats and gloves, and that white stuff called snow before we will be totally settled but we are on our way. Bishop like normal curls up into a ball and falls asleep. He cares not for anything new.

I am excited for the adventure that lies here. As for being a nurse, well currently my patience is being tested. Waiting for the right position that needs me to come in. Who knows what I will be doing. Support is by my side as always. Denver is new...
What kind of people we will meet here? What fun memories Andy and I will make it all starts now, in 2012. We rang in the new year "just us" like normal. Calm and comfy, laughing and planning. Hey, it is what we do.

Stay tuned for more on the Denver part of the "life as a nurs"
