Rainy Morning Antics
Here is a quick tip...When it is raining (without lightening) take your kiddos outside! This morning; after sleeping another night in our basement due to roofing issues the kids were begging to play outside. Without knowing what the weather was I said "sure, we can walk the pups to the park." WHOOPS! My mistake. As soon as I got upstairs I realized that I was wrong...Rain and gloomy was all that was outside, making a walk to the park with the dogs NOT fun.
Before tears could ensue (from my oldest) I had an idea...The kids stripped down to their under-roos and we went outside anyway. (Our yard is 100% enclosed so I don't worry about their lack of clothing.) We got the pups ready and out we went for a little morning splash session.
Oli held onto Bomber's leash the whole time and was yelling at her to "poo" while G was splishing and splashing in anything he could.
Was a magical 30 minutes outside. Turned frowny kids into happier kids and this mama "saved" the day from starting out gloomy.
The rest of the morning was like normal. Random yelling and tantrums over nothing of importance. Snacks wanted and not eaten. AND of course, more roofing issues
