Being a mom on the go....
What does this mean?
Every mom is busy.
Every parent is busy.
We all are living the busiest lives.....WHY? Why do we fill our days with countless tasks and things we have to get done?
It is likely to be the second day of summer break for many families out there and already the endless parade of comments on facebook and social media have started....The "I wish school wasn't over...can my partner be home...these kids" etc. YES, my children daily frustrate me and I often wish I could have time off but the truth is that this my job. It really is every parents job. Even if you work full time and have a part time thing it is still your original job to care for your chi?ldren. So why all the negativity?
Being a parent is hard; it is hard to always being thinking about or caring for another human other than yourself. TO be honest...What did we all think it was going to be like? I know that going from zero children to one was the hardest change my husband and I have ever gone through...It was insane that this little person now dictated every second of everyday. For months I know I wished for my old life, wished for things to get back to normal....the new normal was never going to look like that. Accepted and moved on, that is what we did. Trust me we reminisce together all the time about what life was like before kiddos, it gives us good perspective about what "busy" looks like...and a good laugh.
At this moment one of my little guys is taking an amazing nap and the other is enjoying some quiet time watching his favorite show and "reading" his book. I cherish these moments. Some days I don't use these moments to the fullest...I nap, a watch a silly "mama show"...I scroll endlessly through social media...not the best use of time I know. Other days (most days) I work out, do chores, plan meals, make meals, clean up and get ready for life to continue. My life is very different now than it was 5 years ago. I bet that in 5 years more it will be even more so different. That is life. What I hope is that in 5 years we won't be saying we are too busy. Even though we spend the majority of our life gone from home we find the time to enjoy some serious quality time and family time. Precious time that I won't always have.
So to my other mom friends out there...Life is always going to be busy. The to-do list is never going to be done. Your children will always need something. Why not embrace all this and remember to stop and see what life has given us. Enjoy the surroundings and find the positive.
Cheers
Sara

Life will always be busy. Even when your kids are grown, other things will fill your time.... just make the most of that time.
