Simple quiet

I am sitting here in the quiet of my lovely home...The warmth of the sun enveloping my feet as it invades my windows listening to the sound of my dog breathing. G is napping and I am just here.

A very nice change from the the gloom of yesterday. The sun is out, it is a beautiful day and I am sitting here watching the last remnants of winter melt away. My little garden is poking its way out through the melted snow and no longer is the world a white covered tundra. 

No this is not about the weather. Although the more I think about this the more I realize that the weather is such an important role in all of our lives. When the sun is out and shining on a gorgeous day it is not un-common to see people smiling and enjoying the outdoors. Groups of people talking while out for a stroll, families walking their pets and children playing....all common things that we see. 

The sun does warm everyone up. Fall brings a cheer and a break from the hot summer, something most people welcome. The holidays come along with the Winter and then it is Spring. Although Spring feels like the best time!...Everyone breaks out their sandals, bright colors and dresses, all in preparation for the upcoming season. The Summer! It  is right around the corner. Time for bbq's, picnics, the beach, family vacations and so much more. 

So I sit here and think about the last winter and my family. Time flies. That is the truth. A woman said to me yesterday. "enjoy life when it is good because any day it can be the opposite." She wasn't being pessimistic or negative but simply stating the fact that life is short. I truly make it a choice to face each day as though it is something special....Why not? It is! Right? Yesterday was a hard day to enjoy but I came home and got the best gifts...My family.
Today I am sitting in this quiet reflective place. Getting tons done from my to-do list all while just enjoying what they day has brought. Simple.

I know that we can't always be sitting on a beach enjoying the sounds of the waves and the company of our families....Today I am sitting in my house, listening to my dog and I don't know the difference...That is my choice to enjoy the good of the day!
