The Gym
As the big day is fast approaching life has slowed down substantially. Last night while laughing at some funny old photos I realized how much I really miss going to the gym.
Andy and I really have a special connection with the gym. It is something that we have ALWAYS done together. From the beginning of our friendship we would meet in the early hours of the morning or the late hours of the night to go the gym. I taught him the importance of running and yoga and he showed me how to lift weights and improve my speed. It has always been a blast and a real pleasure to do that with him. Even in all our travels we made the time to find a local gym or even just do little work outs in our tiny apartments. Being pregnant has really changed that. He made sure to keep me active through this whole thing, but there is a big difference than what I am used to.
Yoga, walking and strolling with the dogs is great, but I really am missing the hard core, muscle soreness, wanting to give up workouts that we did together. Pushing one another to do things the other isn't the best at and really having something that was part of the "just us." I know that once the Dubs arrives I won't be jumping back into the hard core gym right away but I really REALLY am looking forward to it! Seeing those little accomplishments stack back up and see the benefits of it all.
I look forward to the challenge I have given to myself for next year and I am excited to get ready for it, but mostly I am looking forward to starting our little family out on the healthy path.
Cheers to my awesome and wonderful husband! Thank you for always believing in me...Together I know I can do this all again!.
