Today marks the first day that I can sit back and take a breath! I feel like it has been a whirlwind of everything over the past couple weeks...With only 5.5 more weeks to go (who is counting though?) I really am trying to cut down on my plans and such, which if you know me is VERY hard.

Many of you know that I come for a giant family! It is something that I wouldn't change for anything in the world. It is crazy how many people I am related to but super cool at the same time...There has been lots of family time in the last couple weeks....

Last week we had a wonderful night of laughter and great food at my cousin Althea's house. Our other cousin Chris came and joined in the night of fun as well! Althea is...well she is awesome, her and I are very alike in many ways...sometimes a little creepy, but awesome! Check out her blog! We played "cards against humanity" and I laughed so hard that my muscles were sore the next day! It was a great get together that must be repeated!!!

More family time commenced as the weekend approached.

This past weekend was a blasty blast. Yup I just said that! Saturday my mom and sister threw Andy, Baby Dubs and I an awesome shower of family and friends! It was overwhelming to have so many people there supporting us and our upcoming little addition to our family! Sunday my mother-in-law and Aunt-in-law threw us another shower of family and friends and again...overwhelming. The incredible generosity of people was insane and something that reminds me again of how important the little things are. We were so honored that all the people at the multitude of showers we had we there to begin with, so thank you to EVERYONE!!! In true Sara Mae form I went home after both showers, organized all the goodies and wrote our "thank you cards."  By Sunday evening I was wiped out and ready to crash! But, at least it is all done. The end of the showers weekend just signifies that we are that much closer to meeting this little person! Oh I can't wait!

Both my gigantic family and Andy's "normal" sized family have a ridiculous amount of talented people in them! Our growing little family greatly appreciates all the talents and creativity of my family! From the details at the showers (Thank you Rachel for the awesome center-pieces) to the hand-made gifts and goodies! Everything is so appreciated and so beautiful!

My little family: Andy, Me, Baby Dubs, the pups....

Andy is making MAJOR headway at Ethel and we should be all back to normal in a couple weeks. Truly, I can't say it enough. the amount of prep he is doing on Ethel is outstanding and he deserves an award for it all. He supports me and has supported me through all of the ups and downs of pregnancy and life in general! I wouldn't be the same person without him! I tell him all the time that I am so honored that I get to be the mother of his child....Corny I know, but oh so true.

One more trip down to STL and then it is time for a couple weeks of R&R for the mama and papa to be! Yes, I am still working at the Chicago hospital but small shifts and my boss is very nice and lets me "rest" when I can. I have even started to say "no" to some people when they ask if I want to plan extra little outings ..Go me!

It is getting so close!
