Well Hello
Hello there little blog! I have missed you!
In my absence of writing I have thought many times what I should write about when I get a moment, and as usual those thoughts are now evading me. It has been a busy busy couple of weeks.
We went back to STL when I had a horrid little stomach bug that sadly lasted way past its welcome. Once returning back to Portland I tried jumping right back into work and that nasty little bug reared its head again. Yes, I as forced to take some time off! Much needed I must say.
Since then our whirlwind life has been awesome! Andy and I stole a long weekend last week and headed up to Vancouver BC. I would say with confidence that it is one of my favorite places! It was such a relaxing and enjoyable time. We ate delish food, walked around, enjoyed an awesome bike ride around Stanley Park, and a bunch more. Even was surprised with a haircut, I must say it is awesome as well! Being in a place like that always puts things into better focus for me. You know, I place that is just peaceful and simple....kind of slows down all the bs of everyday life.
Work is work. Night shift is killing me. I can't get my sleep schedule down so days off are a blur of trying to stay awake or multiple naps while attempting to "watch" a movie on the couch with my love. 12 more shifts left, or 4 weeks. This contract has really tested me. As a nurse it is similar to every other hospital. Yet, I have not often worked in a place where it seemed as though it was always "sink or swim." I feel bad for the staff because it seems that it is always been and always will be like that. Not enough nurses, oh well...It isn't the way it should be. I still take my time with my patients and I am who I am...
I have been lucky enough to make some fun friendships while here! That is always a silent little bonus of the traveling world!
Busy busy will keep us going over the next 4 weeks. At the end of this week we are headed to Seattle for a couple days to get lost in the city. Next week after work we head back to STL for a few and then to Vegas for a little conference! Once back from all that I have 2 weeks left and then home again, home again!!
Stay tuned.
