In the BAG!!!
Whew!!! Done and done! Fall has arrived in the Pacific Northwest and my time here has come to an end. The contract was completed early this morning as I stepped out the facility on my last day. The sky was a site so beautiful it made me stop and reflect on the last three months here. Although very hard and tiring, I did it!
A couple things I learned....
I am not a nights person anymore. Working night-shift is awesome because of the group of people that you encounter. There is a sense of team work that is hard to describe. On the night crew there are just less people to go around. I met some great new friends and have made some HILARIOUS memories with them. My last week was amazing and I felt more blessed than I ever have at a contract. Thank you to all those people that made the last, and hardest week, the best!
I am a strong woman as well as a strong nurse. I love constantly learning about myself and my skills as a nurse. Meeting new people all the time takes a level of confidence that you may be alone. Who knows if you will "fit in" with the staff, so you have to be OK being self -reliant. From day one here I was lucky to meet some people both professionally and personally that have left little marks along the way.
My husband, my love is AMAZING. I have said that a million times and people probably get tired of hearing it, but OH WELL! Our partnership grows all the time and is something that surprises me all the time.
Traveling back and forth to STL, although fun and interesting was really hard! To get off work at 6am, get on a flight and fly all day every three weeks is rough. Not sure how we are going to work that one out on the next adventure.
As always I was able to be part of a completely new crew of staff. The ability to see how another facility runs and works is something that shouldn't, but always catches me off guard. I hope that I bring something new to them as each facility has taught me many things. New faces, new doctors, new nurses, and as always new adventures...
That is what life is about, adventures...Rather experiences are what is important. Thank you for the experience and memories of Portland. A million memories created...a new hurdle crossed and on to the next.
