Hard Work Pays off- Really
It is 530 in the morning. The sky is still dark and the air has a humid warmth to it outside. The sea air still smells of salt and sand and we are just here in this moment. Sitting and enjoying the soft guitar music playing over-head and YUP we are in an airport.
The cliche title of my thoughts today is true. People say it all the time and all to often too many people shrugg it off....The truth is if you set a goal and work for it with consistency and intention it will pay off.
Ok so back to the airport....Why or maybe I should say Where are we in an airport? Andy and I (no babies) are just finishing up a week long vacation in Punta Cana. Not a surprise to hear that we are traveling right? The surprise is this....This trip was 100% free and earned through hard work and dedication. For three years I have been running my own little side gig with Jamberry nails. Through this little side hustle I have made amazing friendships, incredible connections and fallen in love with a product that is life changing. Last year I made a personal goal to earn the incentive trip....something I thought only "those" people earn. When the time came where I saw that it was not only possible, but happening there was this sense of PRIDE and accomplishment. No one did this for me. No one gave me a magic pill. No one shared a secret with me that helped me do the un-thinkable...Nope, I did this...
Over the past three years I have been blessed by amazing customers, hostesses and team mates. All of these men and women have supported my goals, encouraged me and then celebrated with them! A whirl-wind to say the least.
The sad thing to me is this....Many of the people that read this are still thinking that they "can't" do these things....That they aren't "one of those people." That is a lie that we tell ourselves....A lie that gives us a safe way out without actually committing to doing something...The truth of the lie is that the only person you are letting down is YOU. I am here to tell you..STOP! You can achieve your goals. You can if you commit to it everyday. Work towards your goals with consistency and intention. When you then achieve them you celebrate them...You enjoy it. Dream big and earn big.
Another little celebration I am so proud of...in addition to earning an all expense trip to Punta Cana for my husband and I....The day we left we finished our first Whole30 challenge. Again, something that "those" people do and I wasn't one of them. We decided to do it and did it...Each day was a simple set of choices...When it boiled down to the simple choices it was just that.....Was I going to let myself down? Nope, planning, working with intention and achieving the goal was worth all the work.
Whatever it is in your life that you want....Whatever it is that seems out of reach...Stop telling yourself that it is fine...It isn't. Dream big. Work Hard. Hustle and it will pay off!
