A tasty last minute breakfast |
It was much to our surprise that the shop didn't have WiFi although the website said they did...Thankfully a lovely and TASTY shop Sugar Fixe Patisserie was right down the street and let us hang out for a bit so Andy could work....Not a big deal until you read the next bit...We had already ordered at the first shop and Sugar fixe let us bring our order into their shop no problem. Of course I then purchased a scone and my-oh-my, it was AMAZING!!!! If you live in the Oak Park area this shop is a must have for their pastries and delish coffee!!!
So today:
Andy had to leave shop #1 in search of my new fav Oak Park place, Sugar Fixe. As I was walking out of shop one with a hot coffee in my hand a rushed woman ran into me, spilling the coffee all over me. Then she looked at me like I had upset her morning, no apology, no nothing...BUMMER! I hate smelling like coffee and I hate even more having stained clothes.
Currently:
We are about 11 days away from our due date and I get the "I'm done" statement that I have heard from so many people in the past. I am not miserable, uncomfortable yes but it really more is the anticipation of finally getting to meet this little person that we have been growing and loving for what seems like forever. Every day has that Christmas Eve feeling, you know something is coming but you aren't sure when the magic will happen.
It is still super surreal but amazing at the same time. I look forward to holding the little person and seeing Andy with our baby as well...Oh so much! Selfishly I am looking forward to having my ankles and feet back to somewhat recognizable size. Other than that I am more looking forward to the Dubs being in my arms.
We have been so lucky in the past couple weeks. After working probably more than I should my boss gave me maternity leave a bit early!!! I think all of our families and friends appreciated that as much as I did and still do.
With lots of fun visitors the last couple weeks we have been keeping busy and calm at the same time. It has been fun to be stocking our freezer, working on Ethel, cleaning the garage and just being "just us." I think the house is ready for the arrival of the dubs and I think that with each day Andy and I are both more and more ready for the big day. The upstairs looks AMAZING!!!! Andy has beyond impressed me with all the hard work he has put into it.
So what we have coming up:
More midwife appointments in the next week or so
Last minute touch ups on the upstairs and finishing all the deep cleaning of the house/
Andy's parents are arriving next week and hanging out until The Dubs makes the grand entrance.
Getting the rest of the house ready for our home birth of the Dubs.
Seems really awesome to not see "work" or "meetings" on the schedule! It is awesome to get back to the little things that are important in life!
Can't wait...Stay tuned.
